Senior Accountant General Ledger (HGB) / Bookkeeping Specialist

Your Responsibilities

You will become part of our Business Accounting team and take responsibility for several companies within a dynamic and rapidly growing group. You will work closely with colleagues from Group Accounting, Technical Accounting, Tax and Treasury and operate in an environment with demanding accounting and financing structures. Alongside day-to-day accounting, the role offers the opportunity to actively develop processes and contribute to scaling our Finance organisation.

• You are responsible for the general ledger accounting of a portfolio of Enpal companies and, together with the Team Lead GL Accounting, ensure accurate and timely financial information.

• You independently carry out monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities under HGB, including accruals, provisions, reclassifications and other closing entries.

• You are responsible for intercompany accounting and invoicing, perform balance sheet account reconciliations and proactively resolve open items and discrepancies.

• You analyse profit and loss and balance sheet accounts, identify unusual developments and ensure that the figures correctly reflect the underlying business activities.

• You support HGB annual financial statements, Group Reporting and external audits and provide relevant financial information and documentation for them.

• You work closely with Group Accounting, Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury as well as Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to resolve accounting matters efficiently.

• You support the Team Lead in developing and standardising accounting processes and actively contribute to the automation and scaling of GL Accounting.

• As an experienced team member, you bring your accounting expertise, support on more complex questions and contribute to consistent ways of working and high quality within the team.

Your Profile

• You have completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, business administration or a relevant commercial training or a comparable qualification.

• You have several years of professional experience in general ledger or financial accounting, ideally in a complex or international corporate environment.

• You have sound practical knowledge of HGB as well as experience with monthly and annual closings.

• You have experience in intercompany accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and other key GL processes.

• You have experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or comparable systems is an advantage. You also have very good Excel skills.

• You communicate confidently in German; good English skills are an advantage.
