Interim Financial Controller on consulting assignment in Gothenburg

We are now looking for you who wish to take on a consulting assignment as Financial Controller at an international company in Gothenburg. The company is part of an American publicly listed group. The assignment starts in January-February 2027 and initially runs for six months, with good opportunities for extension and potential permanent employment for the right person.

About the role
As Financial Controller, you will have a broad and central role in the finance function. You will support the local CFO with monthly closing, reconciliations and financial reporting, and also act as backup to the CFO when needed. Day-to-day accounting is handled by a Shared Service Center, which means the focus in this role is mainly on analysis, year-end closing and reporting. 

Your main responsibilities

• Support in the monthly and annual closing process

• Monthly account reconciliations

• Valuations, revaluations and inventory accounting under US GAAP

• Bridging between US GAAP and K3

• Reporting from the business system (Microsoft Dynamics 365) to the group's consolidation system

• Support in ongoing bookkeeping to the Shared Service Center

• Contact person and support for internal and external audit

• Backup to the CFO and ad hoc finance tasks

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have a background in accounting, and it is highly meritorious if you have previously worked as an auditor. Experience of US GAAP and of bridging between accounting principles is a big plus. You are used to structuring and prioritising your own work in line with business needs. 

As a person, you are self-driven, motivated and take own initiatives with ease. You enjoy finding solutions and presenting alternatives when faced with challenges and new questions. You thrive in a high-paced environment and adapt quickly when priorities change. You are stable, secure and responsive, and speak and write fluently in both Swedish and English. You have good knowledge of Excel, and it is a merit if you are also proficient in Power BI.

The assignment is expected to start in January-February 2027 and initially run for six months, with good opportunity for extension. The work is based at the office in Gothenburg, with the expectation that you will be on site one day a week and one week a month around reporting. The remaining work can be carried out remotely.
