Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Payments Business Analyst to join our team in London.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of UK payment systems and be able
to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including banks, to define requirements
and deliver key payments solutions.
2 Key Responsibilities:
- Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Engage with banks and other
stakeholders to capture and discuss business requirements. Prepare clear and
comprehensive Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional
Specifications (FS).
3 Client Interaction & Presentations: Be articulate and confident in presenting
payment capabilities, solutions, and proposals to banks, ensuring alignment
between technical and business requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of various UK payment rails
including Swift MT, Swift CBPR+, UK CHAPS, UK FPS, and UK BACS. Understand
the intricacies of message formats, message fields, validations, request-response
formats, and message flows, including cross-field validations at a granular level.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with trends, regulatory changes, and new
innovations in the payments industry, particularly in the UK market.
- Collaboration with Payment Vendors: Experience working with leading payment
companies such as ACI, FIS, Fiserv, Bottomline, Finastra, or Oracle. Experience
with the IT side of Banking Payments will also be beneficial.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in Payments, with at least 5 years working
specifically within the UK Payments ecosystem.
- Strong technical understanding of UK payment systems and messaging protocols
such as Swift MT, Swift CBPR+, CHAPS, FPS, and BACS.
- Proven ability to engage with banks to understand their needs and produce well-
documented business and functional requirements.
- Experience with payments solutions providers like ACI, FIS, Fiserv, Bottomline, or
similar, or direct experience in banking payments IT.
- Must be based in London and able to work full-time from the office.
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working within a payments technology company or the IT arm of a
bank.
- In-depth knowledge of payments industry standards and regulatory frameworks
in the UK.
