About us

At VREY we are building the EnergyOS for multi-family buildings.

In Germany there are over 3.3 million multi-party residential buildings - and they are the black hole of the energy transition. <1% solar penetration. <2% smart metering. Hardly any flexibility or intelligent energy management.

At the same time, regulation is forcing owners to make massive investments: solar becomes mandatory, smart meters must be rolled out nationwide within the next 5 years, heating and mobility are electrifying. The multi-family home is turning from 'concrete gold' into an active part of the decentralised energy infrastructure.

What is missing is an integrated system that makes this change economically and operationally manageable.

VREY combines certified metering operation with its own software and enables owners for the first time to sell their self-generated solar power directly to their tenants - simply and without becoming an energy supplier themselves (§42b EnWG).

This turns regulatory compulsion into a profitable and plannable opportunity:

• Double-digit returns and value growth for owners,

• ~20% electricity cost savings for tenants, and

• digital infrastructure for storage, heat pumps and flexibility.

We already support a three-digit number of projects - including the largest portfolio owners and housing cooperatives - in all 16 federal states. As a result, we have become one of the leading providers in the market in a very short time.

As part of our seed financing we have raised EUR 3.3m from leading impact and energy VCs (including Rubio Impact Ventures, HTGF, Kopa Ventures). With the fresh capital we are moving into the next growth phase and deliberately building out our team.

Your profile

• You have already gained initial experience in consulting (Tier 1/Tier 2), high-growth start-ups (ideally operations or process optimisation), or in project management

• You have a completed degree or a comparable qualification in a relevant field such as industrial engineering or business administration

• You think like an entrepreneur, make well-founded decisions independently and set clear priorities with a view to impact, scalability and long-term company success

• You bring a strong interest in start-ups, energy or real estate

• You deliberately do not want a 9-to-5 job, but want to take on responsibility in a fast-paced, founder-close environment, build structures and actively shape growth

• You strive to become the best version of yourself and seek environments where you can fully develop your potential

• You are in Berlin (or willing to relocate) - our office is our home base

• You speak German and English fluently

Your tasks

Mission of the role

You are responsible for the operational delivery of our energy projects in multi-family buildings - from signed contract to successful go-live.

Your goal: bring projects live quickly, in a regulatory-compliant and scalable way - and develop from this a robust operating model for hundreds of projects per year.

1. End-to-end delivery of energy projects

• You take projects from contract signature to go-live and are responsible for on-time commissioning and error-free system mapping

• You independently manage installers, grid operators and internal teams

• You ensure regulatory-compliant implementation (e.g. §42b EnWG, MSB processes)

2. Building scalable energy operations

• You develop standardised project structures and clear handover processes

• You reduce operational complexity as project volume grows

• You establish a repeatable rollout model for several hundred projects per year

3. Process and system architecture

• You translate energy industry requirements into stable metering, balancing and billing processes

• You identify bottlenecks, track operational KPIs and implement concrete improvement measures

• You automate recurring workflows and increase scalability and quality
