About the role

Position: Senior Palantir Ontology Engineer / Architect
Location: UAE- AUH
Notice Period: 15-20 days

We are seeking an experienced Senior Palantir Ontology Engineer / Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of an enterprise-grade ontology layer using Palantir Foundry Ontology capabilities. The role will focus on transforming enterprise data into a connected, governed, business-oriented knowledge layer that enables AI agents to understand organizational context, reason over trusted information, and execute business workflows where authorized.
The successful candidate will work closely with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, AI, and business stakeholders to establish a unified semantic foundation, connecting enterprise data assets, business entities, relationships, metrics, and operational processes. The role will also support integration with Microsoft Fabric semantic models and other enterprise data platforms, enabling reusable, trusted, and AI-ready data products.

Key Responsibilities
Required Qualifications and Experience
  • Design and maintain Palantir Foundry Ontologies, including object types, properties,
links, interfaces, actions, and business logic.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable ontology models, canonical entities,
and standardized semantic definitions.
  • Design integration architectures connecting Palantir Foundry with Microsoft Fabric
Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows, SQL models, and Power BI semantic
models.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, transformations, entity resolution, business keys, and relationship mappings.
  • Establish data quality, metadata, lineage, governance, and synchronization standards across platforms.
  • Enable ontology-grounded AI agents through contextual retrieval, RAG, tool calling,
reusable functions, and controlled business actions.
  • Evaluate AI-agent accuracy, data grounding, SQL correctness, relationship traversal, and business-rule compliance.
  • Implement secure integration, role-based access controls, validation, audit logging,
monitoring, and appropriate approval mechanisms.
  • Lead technical design reviews and collaborate with data engineering, BI, AI, security, architecture, and business teams.
  • Establish reusable architecture patterns, technical standards, documentation, and
knowledge-transfer practices.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in data architecture, data engineering, semantic
modelling, or enterprise data platforms.

Technical Skills
Essential / Must Have
Strongly Preferred

Key Deliverables
  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry Ontology, including objects, links,
actions, and business logic.
  • Strong SQL, relational modelling, entity resolution, data integration, and
performance optimization skills.
  • Experience preparing enterprise data for AI agents, knowledge retrieval, or context-
aware applications.
  • Understanding of APIs, data governance, metadata, security, and access
management.
  • Palantir Foundry Ontology and semantic modelling.
  • Enterprise data architecture, entity relationships, and data contracts.
  • SQL, relational databases, transformations, and performance optimization.
  • Data quality, governance, metadata, and lineage.
  • AI-agent grounding, RAG, business context, and response evaluation.
  • REST APIs, authentication, secure integration, and role-based access control.
  • Technical documentation, architecture design, and testing frameworks.
  • Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and
Notebooks.
  • Power BI semantic models, DAX, dimensional modelling, and KPI definitions.
  • Palantir Foundry pipelines, transforms, functions, and ontology-backed applications.
  • Python, knowledge graphs, graph databases, and modern data architecture.
  • AI evaluation, embeddings, vector search, and tool calling.
Core Competencies
Preferred Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on senior engineer or architect with proven Palantir Foundry Ontology implementation experience, strong enterprise data platform expertise, and the ability to integrate trusted data and enable secure, reliable AI agents. Experience integrating Foundry with Microsoft Fabric or similar semantic platforms is highly preferred.

Screening Criterion: Power BI semantic modelling, conventional database modelling, or theoretical knowledge graphs alone are insufficient without practical Palantir Foundry Ontology implementation experience.
  • Enterprise Ontology Blueprint: Documented architecture, domain boundaries,
object models, relationships, actions, and governance standards.
  • Operational Ontology Layer: Validated Palantir Foundry Ontologies for prioritized
business domains.
  • Fabric Integration Framework: Tested integration patterns, SQL models, data
mappings, synchronization, and lineage.
  • AI-Ready Semantic Foundation: Standardized business entities, trusted metrics, and contextual data for AI-agent consumption.
  • AI Agent Evaluation Framework: Test datasets, automated validation, business-rule
checks, and accuracy assessments against trusted data.
  • Governance and Production Readiness: Security, data quality, monitoring,
performance, auditability, and change-management controls.
  • Reusable Standards and Knowledge Transfer: Architecture documentation,
development templates, operational procedures, team handover, and a scalability
roadmap.
  • Enterprise architecture and analytical thinking.
  • Ontology engineering, semantic modelling, and relationship design.
  • Business-to-technical translation and solution design.
  • End-to-end technical ownership and delivery.
  • AI-ready data, grounding, and semantic reasoning.
  • Problem-solving, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Stakeholder communication and technical leadership.
  • Governance, security, reusable architecture, and continuous improvement.
