About the role

Translated into English from Spanish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Solaria Energía y Medio Ambiente, a leading company in the development and generation of renewable energy, storage and infrastructure in southern Europe, maintains a firm commitment to decarbonisation and the energy transition through a model based on clean energy and sustainable infrastructure.

Since our beginnings in 2002, we have undergone constant evolution that has taken us from being a manufacturer of photovoltaic panels to becoming one of Europe's leading renewable energy producers and a developer of critical infrastructure and data centres, listed on the Spanish stock exchange since 2007 and part of the IBEX 35 since 2020.

As part of our growth and the expansion of our asset portfolio, we are looking to recruit a Projects & Construction Lawyer whose mission will be to provide comprehensive legal support to the Group's construction and infrastructure projects (renewable energy plants, storage and data centres), from the tendering phase through to contract execution and closure, managing risks, disputes and negotiations in a national and international environment.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction), Design & Build, O&M and technical consultancy contracts, as well as supply agreements for all types of components (modules, transformers, inverters, BESS, wind turbines…).

  • Legal support during the tender process: review of tender documents, analysis of contractual risks and preparation of documentation with suppliers, subcontractors and vendors.

  • Advice on claims for extensions of time, cost overruns and variations during the execution of construction projects.

  • Management and coordination of dispute resolution procedures (litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation) arising from projects.

  • Definition and implementation of risk management strategies across the entire project lifecycle, from development through to execution.

  • Negotiation and drafting of joint venture and consortium agreements, and resolution of implementation issues with partners and contractors.

  • Legal support on project finance transactions and, where applicable, on PPP/concession processes.

  • Coordination with the Concessions, Energy, Corporate and Project Finance teams, and liaison with external law firms, to align the legal strategy with business objectives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Degree in Law. Current membership of the bar (ICAM or another Spanish bar association).

  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience in construction and infrastructure law, preferably in an international law firm and/or the legal department of a construction or energy company.

  • Proven experience in EPC contracts, PPP/concessions and international infrastructure projects.

  • Experience in dispute management (litigation, arbitration) and in negotiating JV/consortium agreements.

  • C1 level of English essential (international environment); a third language would be an advantage.

  • On-site position in Madrid, with availability for occasional domestic and international travel.

  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and strong negotiation and liaison skills at all levels.

What we offer

  • Joining a company listed on the IBEX 35, in the midst of an international expansion process.

  • Involvement in large-scale critical infrastructure and data centre projects.

  • Competitive remuneration package in line with experience.
