About the role

Translated into English from French by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Damae Medical commercialises deepLive™, a unique medical imaging solution in the world that allows the skin to be observed at cellular resolution, in real time and non-invasively (2D, video and 3D).

To help dermatologists in their decision-making, improve the speed and relevance of diagnoses or make surgical procedures more precise, Damae Medical is developing embedded AI models for the real-time detection of cancers (e.g. IA BCC).

You will be required to improve existing models and develop new ones for better performance, support new clinical indications while ensuring a high level of model explainability to maintain trust with physicians.

As part of more fundamental research into how the skin works and the development of skin actives or treatments, Damae Medical is also developing AI segmentation models and models for characterising skin biomarkers (e.g. IA atypie). You will contribute to developing new models (2D or 3D) to better understand and quantify how the skin functions and how pathologies develop.

Your responsibilities

Contributing to the excellence and scientific reputation of AI research at Damae Medical
  • Scientific monitoring to stay up to date with the latest innovations.

  • Understanding the challenges in dermatology and determining the best approach to meet the need.

  • Publication of scientific papers in international journals, with possible participation in medical conferences.

  • Taking part in creating datasets for training the models, developing optimised tools.

  • Planning the developments and defining the success criteria of the projects.

Contributing to the development and market launch of deepLive™ AI
  • Developing and testing the models (cross-validation).

  • Analysing the results and implementing avenues for improvement in performance.

  • Deploying the models and contributing to the software integration.

  • Taking part in the clinical validation plan and the valorisation of results (scientific articles, conferences).

Why join us?

  • Working closely with the Software and Clinical teams and our partner physicians, you will be responsible for the scientific reputation of our work.

  • This role offers a rare opportunity to master the entire lifecycle of a medical AI model: from its design and ideation through its training, up to its production deployment.

  • Damae Medical places innovation at the heart of its culture and actively encourages the publication of your advances in leading scientific journals.

  • Genuine deep learning research activity. More than 3 million images already collected and annotated to work with. AI models are in production and/or on the market.
