About the role

Translated into English from French by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Have you built your career in civil engineering and do you have recognised expertise in the construction or rehabilitation of quay walls? LFG Construction is looking for a principal project manager to lead large-scale marine and port projects, where your leadership, technical judgement and business acumen will make the difference.

Reporting to the civil engineering department, you take charge of project delivery, from planning to handover. You mobilise teams, anticipate the challenges of marine, coastal and river environments, and ensure operational and financial performance, in compliance with contractual, environmental and safety requirements.

YOUR DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead marine civil engineering projects, particularly the construction, repair and rehabilitation of quays and port infrastructure.

  • Define execution strategies, schedules, budgets and resource requirements; coordinate all stages of delivery.

  • Supervise specialised works according to contracts: marine foundations, piles, sheet piles, cofferdams, rock fill, dredging and related structures.

  • Mobilise project teams, superintendents, foremen, suppliers and specialised subcontractors to ensure efficient execution.

  • Optimise construction methods taking into account tides, weather conditions, site access and operations on the water.

  • Manage costs, productivity, schedules and profitability; anticipate risks and rapidly deploy corrective measures.

  • Ensure technical and contractual compliance, environmental permits, and health and safety on marine works.

  • Develop relationships of trust with clients, project owners, port authorities and partners.

  • Contribute to tenders, estimating, risk analysis and delivery strategies.

  • Manage contract changes, additional works, claims and documentary follow-up.

  • Lead kick-off and progress meetings and promote smooth communication between stakeholders.

  • Advance LFG's marine expertise and support the development of teams.

  • Carry out any other related responsibilities within the mandate.

THE PROFILE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil engineering construction, including at least 5 years in civil engineering project management.

Proven and mandatory experience in the construction, repair or rehabilitation of quays within marine or port projects.

Mastery of execution methods, specialised equipment and technical constraints specific to marine works.

Experience in managing complex projects: planning, financial monitoring, contract management and operational performance.

Recognised experience in coordinating and leading site teams; experience in marine estimating and with port authorities considered an asset.

Availability for travel to sites; membership of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec considered an asset.

THE SKILLS THAT SET YOU APART

  • Motivating leadership, autonomy and ability to manage complex civil engineering projects.
