(Senior) Backend Engineer

At amber you will help develop a growing AI platform that helps companies make better use of knowledge internally. With your Python and C/C++ skills, you will help ensure our systems run reliably and keep getting better.

In this role you will actively support the further development of our microservice architecture and work closely with the frontend, AI and DevOps teams to implement new features and improve existing solutions. • You develop and optimise scalable backend services that enable our customers to work reliably and quickly with our AI-powered platform

• You connect new data sources via API and help make our amberAI smarter with every integration

• Together with our AI, frontend and DevOps teams, you take new features from idea to live rollout

• You actively work on our microservice architecture, contribute suggestions and develop existing modules further

• User experience and functionality of the platform come first in your code, followed by performance, modularity and clean interfaces

• You consistently focus on security, data protection and data quality in your work

• Your code goes directly into a productive system that is in daily use, so you see your impact immediately

• You have experience developing scalable microservices and work confidently with REST APIs

• You work with Python every day, know the ecosystem stack and use it productively

• You bring additional language expertise in C/C++. Other languages such as Go, Rust, JavaScript are nice to have and you can use them flexibly depending on the use case

• You understand modular software architecture and have a good grasp of clean code and system design

• You are eager to keep developing and to try out new technologies hands-on

• You communicate confidently and reliably - in German and English - with various stakeholders

• Team offsites - as you will be working in an international team, we all meet twice a year somewhere in Europe
