A strong cooperative energy company with a central societal role

Energi Fyn is one of Denmark's largest and oldest cooperative-owned energy companies and for more than 130 years has played a central role in the development of energy supply on Funen. The group has more than 220,000 members and activities within electricity, gas, fibre networks, charging solutions, heat pumps and energy consulting, among others.

Energi Fyn stands on a solid financial foundation and has for several years delivered strong results. In 2025 the group had revenue of DKK 5.7 billion and equity of DKK 4.8 billion. At the same time, Energi Fyn is investing significantly in the development and future-proofing of the critical energy and digital infrastructure on Funen.

Vores Elnet is a 100% owned subsidiary of Energi Fyn and owns, operates and develops a substantial part of the critical electricity infrastructure on Funen. The company supplies more than 220,000 customers through an electricity grid of more than 10,000 km and an extensive technical infrastructure including, among other things, transformer stations, cable cabinets and advanced control and monitoring systems.

The electrification of society is creating significantly greater demands on the capacity and development of the electricity grid. Over the last five years, Vores Elnet's investment level has quintupled, and an extensive expansion and modernisation of the grid is under way.

A director role combining operations and transformation

As Chief Technical Officer of Energi Fyn you will also be Chief Executive Officer of Vores Elnet and have overall responsibility for a technical organisation of approx. 155 employees.

Your task has two decisive dimensions: you must ensure continued high security of supply and efficient operation of the existing infrastructure, while developing the organisation and building the capacity to carry out a significantly larger investment, digitalisation and transformation agenda.

You will thereby play a central role in preparing Vores Elnet for continued electrification and the energy transition, and for the growing demands that come with the role of operator of critical infrastructure.

At the same time, the organisation is in a development phase, with a focus on strengthening cross-functional collaboration, further developing the management level and creating greater organisational cohesion. We are therefore looking for a director who is motivated by both the technical and the human side of the leadership task.

As a member of Energi Fyn's executive group, you will also actively contribute to the development of the group as a whole. The position reports to Energi Fyn's chief executive officer and to the board of Vores Elnet.

Your main tasks will be to:

• set the strategic direction for Vores Elnet and translate ambitions into concrete priorities and results

• ensure high security of supply, stable operation and efficient use of resources

• prioritise and drive a substantial portfolio of investments and development projects

• accelerate digitalisation, automation and the use of data as a basis for better decisions and increased efficiency

• support the management group and create greater cohesion, involvement and collaboration across the technical organisation

• strengthen the organisation's competencies and capacity for execution in step with the growing demands on the electricity grid

• ensure strong financial management and prioritisation of investments based on security of supply, regulatory frameworks and long-term value creation

• help represent Vores Elnet towards the board, authorities, Energinet, industry organisations and other key stakeholders.

The role thus combines strategy, operations, investments, technology and leadership, and requires a director who can deliver results through the organisation while being a strong voice in Energi Fyn's overall leadership.

What you will bring

We are looking for an experienced and leadership-strong director with solid technical understanding and experience from a larger and complex organisation, who is motivated by both the technical and the human side of the leadership task.

You have documented experience from a director role or another larger management position with significant business and organisational responsibility, and are used to leading through managers. You have a strong understanding of electricity supply, energy infrastructure or other critical societal infrastructure, and experience with operation, maintenance and development of complex technical facilities.

It is essential that you have worked with major investments and project portfolios and can balance long-term development with safe and efficient daily operation. Experience with organisational development, transformation, digitalisation and data-driven management will likewise be central.

You have a relevant higher technical education within, for example, electrical engineering, energy or engineering science, preferably supplemented with leadership training or strategic business education.

As a leader you are strategic, analytical and proactive, yet also visible and involving. You are able to build followership and rally an organisation around a common direction. You have natural authority and high personal credibility, and you thrive on challenging existing ways of doing things when this can create better solutions.

You communicate complex issues simply and convincingly and can move naturally from the technical organisation to executive management, the board, authorities and external partners.

The position is subject to a requirement for security clearance. Employment is therefore conditional on your being able to obtain security clearance in accordance with the rules for the energy sector.
