About the role

Translated into English from Swedish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

At Prevas, we believe technology makes the world a better place. And to make it better, we need people like you. We will give you responsibility and have full confidence that you, as an expert in your field, have the best solutions. We have a strong belief in people and are convinced that your development is our development. We also know that our shared competence grows stronger when we help each other and care. That is why our culture is built on exactly that: being there for one another and having fun along the way.

Hello Opportunity!

As an IT/OT Architect, you are responsible for designing and developing robust and secure architectures that connect industrial OT systems with modern IT platforms. The role focuses on creating scalable solutions for data collection, integration and visualisation while meeting high requirements for cybersecurity, availability and operational reliability.

You will work closely with Automation Engineers, SCADA Developers, Systems Developers and IT architects and the business to ensure that solutions follow established standards and support the business's digitalisation goals.

We are a group of 9 engineers working in the operational technology area with Automation, PLC and Electrical Design, SCADA development and Vision applications, and we need to strengthen our group with specialist expertise in how to design IT / OT architectures.

With us, we work on a consultancy basis towards customers, in project form together with customers and also in project form in-house at the office. We move between different types of software and hardware suppliers to adapt to our customers' needs and conditions and are not tied to a particular platform or technology. In addition to acting as an architect, you are expected to work hands-on to some extent with the development and setup of systems.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Design and develop IT/OT architecture for industrial environments, including integration between OT systems, SCADA, MES and IT platforms, with a focus on scalability, redundancy and high availability.

  • Be responsible for the architecture and implementation of the Ignition platform, including gateway structure, tag modelling, historian, Perspective/Vision and integration with databases, APIs and other industrial systems.

  • Design solutions for data collection from industrial systems, such as PLCs and RTUs, and work with protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT/Sparkplug, Modbus and Ethernet/IP.

  • Design and implement secure OT network architectures, including segmentation according to the Purdue model, firewalls, DMZ zones, VPN solutions and secure integration between OT and IT networks.

  • Ensure cybersecurity in OT environments by establishing architectural principles and solutions in line with relevant standards such as IEC 62443.

  • Establish technical standards and reference architectures for OT platforms, data collection and system integration, and ensure that these are followed in projects and implementations.

  • Support projects and operations with technical expertise, including architecture design, documentation, technical guidelines and participation in strategic work on the digitalisation of industrial systems.

Travel occurs in this role both within Sweden and globally.
