AUCTUS Capital Partners AG

About the role
Translated into English from German by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.
Urban Mining Group, a portfolio company of AUCTUS Capital Partners, is building the leading group of recycled construction materials companies in Germany - in the country's largest bulk material stream: mineral construction and demolition materials with an annual volume of around 250 million tonnes. The platform and first transaction of Urban Mining Group is the Blasius Schuster Group; together with AUCTUS as majority shareholder, growth is planned through acquisitions, partnerships and organic site development
For this growth phase, we are newly creating the position of CFO (m/f/d). You will build the group's finance function from the ground up - from the holding structure through reporting and controlling to M&A and integration capability. You will report to the Managing Directors and work closely with the shareholder group and the management teams of the group companies.

Location: Frankfurt/Offenbach
YOUR ROLE:
Building the finance function at group level: You will establish holding and group accounting, consolidation, controlling and treasury - where today there are still individually grown single-company structures.
Overall responsibility for finance, controlling, bookkeeping, treasury and reporting across the group.
Creating transparency: Establishing robust monthly, quarterly and annual reporting (HGB, consolidated financial statements) including a KPI framework focused on the value drivers of our industry - tonnage, acceptance and sales prices, utilisation of processing plants and backfill volumes, transport and freight costs, contribution margins by site and material stream.
Management: Budgeting, forecasting, rolling liquidity planning and working capital and cash management across several companies and sites.
Investment and asset management: Business cases and cost-benefit analyses for processing technology, vehicle fleet, site and permitting projects; capital allocation between organic projects and acquisitions.
M&A as a core task: You will support acquisitions from financial due diligence through financing to closing - together with AUCTUS and external advisers.
Post-merger integration: You will transfer acquired companies into the group's chart of accounts, reporting, processes and systems and deliver measurable synergies.
Financing and stakeholders: First point of contact for banks, auditors, tax advisers and shareholders; covenant reporting, acquisition and investment financing, leasing and security structures.
Systems and digitalisation: Harmonising and developing ERP, weighbridge/invoicing and dispatch systems as well as BI reporting; automating manual processes, including the consistent use of AI-supported tools in finance.
Governance and risk: Internal controls, compliance topics of the waste and construction materials industry in their financial dimension (including provisions for recultivation, aftercare and site obligations, among others), insurance, investment administration.
Team: Building and leading a lean finance team in the group - from the central holding team to the professional link with the decentralised bookkeeping functions.
YOUR PROFILE:
Completed degree in business administration, finance, industrial engineering or equivalent; additional qualifications are welcome (e.g. Bilanzbuchhalter, CPA/WP, CFA).
Several years of responsibility as CFO, Head of Finance or Head of Controlling in medium-sized companies - ideally in a private equity-backed or group-building environment.
Proven experience in building finance functions and structures, not just administering them
Solid knowledge of HGB (IFRS an advantage), consolidation, controlling and financial planning.
Experience with M&A and post-merger integration - financial due diligence, purchase price mechanisms, integrating acquisitions into reporting and systems.
Experience working with banks and lenders, ideally with acquisition financing and covenant reporting.
Practical experience in optimising processes and introducing or harmonising ERP and BI systems.
Affinity for operationally driven, asset- and logistics-intensive business models - construction materials, recycling, waste management, transport, construction or related industries are a clear advantage.
Hands-on mentality: you are equally willing to work in the numbers as on strategy - in an organisation that does not yet have a department for every task.
Strong communication skills and resilience when dealing with entrepreneurs, shareholders and site managers; willingness to travel within Germany.
Fluent German and English.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Room to shape rather than administer: a newly created key role with the opportunity to build the finance function of an emerging group according to your own ideas.
Visible impact: You will be part of the core team consolidating a fragmented industry - in a market with structural tailwinds from the circular economy, resource scarcity and infrastructure investment.
Professional environment: the combination of an owner-managed mid-sized company and the buy-and-build experience of AUCTUS.
Short paths: direct collaboration with management and shareholders, quick decisions, no corporate bureaucracy.
Attractive remuneration package including the opportunity to participate in the group's success.
Conditions: permanent full-time employment, company car, hybrid working.
Perspective: a role that grows with the group - from building the foundation to supporting the group in its next stage of development.
We look forward to your application!
