Westbay Solutions is now looking for a driven engineer to design and lead exciting product development projects to success, within the Defense & Government business area.

As Lead Design Engineer at Westbay Solutions, you will play a central role in planning, organising and carrying out our technical projects from start to finish. You will work closely with our team members and subcontractors to deliver high-quality solutions to our customers.

We are looking for a driven individual with experience of mechanical design work, strong communication skills and the ability to manage and plan projects. We would like you to be passionate about technology, have an eye for detail and thrive in a fast-moving environment. You need to be able to work effectively both independently and in teams. The role requires you to handle Swedish and English in speech and writing. 

You are expected to have:

1. Good knowledge of mechanical design

2. Good knowledge of Autodesk Inventor or similar CAD programs

3. Work experience in a relevant field

4. Engineering education in mechanical engineering or equivalent education/experience

Meritorious skills:

1. Experience of leading a design team

2. Experience with Vault or other PDM systems

3. Experience of managing/leading projects from concept to implementation

This position is located at Westbay Solutions' facility in Västervik. Remote work is not offered, although the employer may be flexible in an initial phase for someone relocating from another town. The position is full-time, permanent employment beginning with a probationary period, with a start date as soon as possible by agreement.
