Principal Consultant - Business Analyst Core Banking

Lead the transformation in Core Banking by defining target states, shaping implementation and aligning senior stakeholders.

Your role

As Principal Consultant - Business Analyst in Core Banking, you take the lead in requirements analysis and process design in complex transformation programmes at leading financial institutions. You combine in-depth core banking expertise with strong consulting capability to define target architectures, steer implementation decisions and guide client-side executives through comprehensive change processes. This role calls for both strategic thinking and a high level of delivery capability.

Your responsibilities

• Leading business analysis in complex initiatives around core banking transformation, product modernisation and operating model redesign
• Defining approaches for requirements, target processes and functional scope across multiple business and technology streams
• Moderating workshops with senior stakeholders to align design decisions, prioritisation and implementation planning
• Leading and quality-assuring BA teams to ensure consistent documentation, traceability and implementation readiness
• Contributing to consulting projects through solution development, client relationship management and the further development of offerings

Your profile

• Many years of experience in business analysis, consulting or transformation in the banking environment with a strong focus on core banking
• In-depth understanding of core banking products, processes and platform concepts (deposits, lending, customer service, product configuration)
• Experience working with international and cross-functional teams in a global environment
• High level of initiative as well as an independent and proactive way of working
• Experience leading analysis workstreams in large transformation programmes (e.g. software selection, platform implementation or migration)
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and to navigate complex business, operational and technological interdependencies
• Experience working with senior stakeholders up to C-level and Managing Director level
• Experience in management consulting, consulting or business development
• Strong communication, problem-solving and delivery skills in client-focused project environments
• Fluent German and English, and willingness to travel

Nice to have

• Experience with leading core banking platforms or modern, SaaS-based transformation approaches
• Knowledge of target operating model design, data migration strategies or cutover planning
• Experience coaching teams and building reusable methods, templates or delivery standards
• International consulting experience or transformation projects across several countries
