As Financial Controller, you are responsible for all financial aspects within the hotel and lead the accounting team!  

A day as...

You start your day at CASA with a cup of coffee and a look at yesterday's figures. At the office you join your team. No long meeting, just a quick catch-up. How are your colleagues doing? What's going on? You ask questions, bring focus to the week and let the team take the lead.  

After that you have a meeting with the accountants. The annual audit is around the corner and together you go through the open actions. You have been able to deliver a large part of the list and can, after the meeting, get started on the last items to finalise the annual accounts.  

After lunch the monthly P&L meeting is scheduled with the Management + Middle Management Team. The figures for the past month have been shared and the teams have prepared their monthly reports. You lead the meeting and take the teams through the overall results and the outlook for the coming period. You actively manage the action points and take the lead in improving the overall result.  

After this meeting you have an appointment with the F&B Manager. The margins on both Food and Beverage fluctuate enormously and together you want more grip and control over these margins. You discuss the process around stock control, the registration of packages and dive together into margin monitoring. You have made good agreements together to carry out better control next month. Great, that's been achieved! And it's already 5 pm. You send a few last emails and then close your laptop satisfied so you can enjoy your evening! 

You...

• You have a completed MBO/HBO education in business economics or Hotel Management  

• You have demonstrable experience in Finance within hospitality

• You are a good leader, analytically strong, methodical and organised and work accurately 

• You are also a true team player; sociable and you enjoy really seeking connection with your colleagues 

• You have excellent knowledge of Excel. Experience with the programmes AFAS, MEWS, Statler and NMBRS is a plus 

• You speak and write Dutch at a minimum of C1 level 
  

Your responsibilities...

• Managing and developing the accounting team  

• Financial reporting and analysis; monthly P&L and annual budget & rolling forecast 

• Optimising all financial and administrative processes and systems  

• Preparing the annual accounts 

• Supporting the annual accounts audit and acting as contact person for the external accountant  

• Translating the figures for management and middle management  

• Ultimately responsible for payroll processing and payment (in collaboration with HR)  

• Managing cash flow 

• Ultimately responsible for debtors and creditors 

• Ongoing administration such as processing of taxes and allowances

Of course you don't do all of this alone! As Financial Controller you lead a team of 4 colleagues. Together with your team you ensure that all financial administration is carried out properly and on time. It is an enthusiastic and driven team and you enjoy helping your colleagues with their development. Your manager is Jeroen, the Director of Casa.
