Mission

Within our Lorient site, you will lead the technical choices (methods, software) needed for the successful completion of studies in naval, offshore and floating wind metal structures.

You play an important role in adopting new regulations and new practices for future challenges.

You will be required to address issues relating to:

  • Structures attached to the hull (typically foundations, modules and equipment)

  • Offshore beam structures (typically modules, jackets, pipe-racks)

With a good knowledge of international regulations (Class (ABS, BV, DNV…) and AISC/API/Eurocodes…) and calculation methods (linear elastic, non-linear, fatigue), you will be able to guide the engineers and designers in your team in carrying out structural studies.

You will be responsible for managing the technical team (engineers, technicians) entrusted to you, namely:

  • The qualification, adaptation and motivation of employees,

  • The implementation and monitoring of working methods,

  • Providing suitable personnel for projects in liaison with the engineering manager,

  • Verifying the compliance of deliverables and taking the preventive and corrective measures necessary for the complete delivery of projects,

  • Preparing quotations relating to your discipline, at the request of the sales managers and in liaison with the engineering manager,

  • Implementing Quality, Health, Safety, Environment and Sustainable Development policies and/or standards.

Where applicable, in the execution of study projects:

  • You are responsible for the design, sizing and verification by calculation of metal structures.

  • You will be responsible for preparing assumption and calculation notes and verifying the notes produced.

  • You are responsible for compliance with hours, deadlines and quality for your structural studies and those of your team.

  • You manage and lead the technical interface with clients, classification societies and the other project disciplines.

Profile

With a training as a structural engineer or general mechanical engineer, you have experience in metal structure calculations and managing technical teams in the naval and/or offshore field.

With a good knowledge of international regulations (Class (ABS, BV, DNV…) and AISC/API/Eurocodes…) and calculation methods (linear elastic, non-linear, fatigue), you are able to guide engineers and designers in carrying out their structural studies. Knowledge of dynamic calculations would be an advantage.

You are proficient in finite element calculation software (such as FEMAP, Abaqus), beam calculation software (such as SACS, Isymost/NSO) and you have knowledge of materials, welding, etc.
Autonomy, adaptability, team spirit, rigour and communication are the best assets of your personality.
