Context

The Vizzia terminals, equipped with cameras and sensors, are deployed in the field at numerous local authorities, under demanding outdoor conditions: they must remain waterproof, robust, and manufacturable at scale by our industrial partners.

The Hardware team designs and evolves these terminals, from the current Terminal 4.2 to future products. They work closely with the industrialisation engineer and purchasing, hand in hand with the partners who industrialise and assemble each part.

Your mission: take charge of mechanical design and drafting independently, ensuring that each design goes into production without rework at partners like Altyor, allowing the Hardware team to progress on future products without slowing down on the existing ones.

What You'll Do

1. Design and Drafting

• Create 3D models and assemblies of Vizzia products in SolidWorks, managing files under PDM.

• Produce technical drawings (tolerances, materials, finishes) directly usable by Altyor and our suppliers.

• Draft existing parts, then evolve the components of Terminal 4.2.

2. Manufacturability and Waterproofing

• Design plastic injection and aluminium sheet metal parts suitable for mass production.

• Integrate waterproofing and robustness constraints (IP / IK) from the design stage.

• Incorporate electronic constraints into mechanical designs.

3. Prototypes and Validation

• Create prototypes using 3D printing and in the workshop to validate design choices.

• Conduct design validation tests and adjust designs based on results.

4. Documentation and Handover

• Create and maintain product bill of materials and assembly documentation.

• Transfer manufacturing files to industrial partners and respond to their queries.

• Work with industrialisation and purchasing on technical choices and costs.

Who You Are

• You have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience as a designer-project manager.

• You use SolidWorks and a PDM daily.

• You have solid experience in plastic injection, aluminium sheet metal, and tolerancing.

• You have previously designed mechanical parts for electronic products, with waterproofing constraints.

• You deliver reliable plans, and when a design choice seems questionable, you voice it while proposing an alternative.

• You enjoy working on-site, between the design office, workshop, and prototypes.
