We are looking for an experienced Senior Linux Engineer for a consulting assignment within mission-critical IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for operation, development and optimisation of Linux and AIX platforms that support business-critical SAP environments.

The role suits you if you have solid experience of Linux, IBM Power Systems and complex infrastructure solutions, and enjoy working with both technology, automation and problem-solving.

Your responsibilities

• Responsibility for architecture, operation and lifecycle management of Linux platforms

• Working with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

• Administering AIX on IBM Power Systems

• Supporting and maintaining SAP environments in Linux/Unix environments

• Working with automation, patch management and efficiency improvements

• Troubleshooting complex problems and carrying out root cause analysis

• Collaborating with database specialists, security teams and cloud architects

• Documenting solutions, changes and technical environments

We are looking for you who

• Have senior experience of Linux, particularly SUSE and RHEL

• Have experience of AIX and IBM Power Systems

• Have worked with SAP in Linux/Unix environments

• Have experience of automation with, for example, Ansible, Puppet or SaltStack

• Have good knowledge of Bash or KornShell

• Have experience of complex infrastructure solutions

• Are analytical and used to working in a structured way with problem-solving

• Have good documentation skills
