We are looking for a senior project engineer in railway basic maintenance for Trafikverket.

This is a consultancy assignment with a base in Västerås.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places great demands on flexibility and ability to cooperate.

The assignment

We are looking for a senior project engineer who will support Trafikverket's work on railway basic maintenance in the Central Region, Eastern section.

The assignment includes contract administration, planning, financial follow-up and analysis of maintenance measures within, among others, Mälarbanan, Dalabanan, Svealandsbanan and Västra Södra Stambanan.

The consultant shall act as qualified support to the project manager in contract matters, follow-up of contractors, inspections and handling of maintenance-related cases.

The role also involves contributing to organisational development, knowledge transfer and the introduction of junior project engineers.

Key responsibilities

Support the project manager with planning, administration and follow-up of time, finances, resources, quality, risks and work environment.

Analyse and follow up events in the railway infrastructure and prepare decision-making material for measures and orders.

Administer and follow up final and ÖVT inspections within basic railway contracts.

Handle contract administration, invoice review and financial follow-up in, among others, CDI and Agresso.

Assist with the handling of notifications, ÄTA works and follow-up of contractors' deliveries.

Lead smaller projects or sub-projects and take part in meetings with suppliers and other stakeholders.

Support and introduce junior project engineers and contribute to the exchange of experience and the development of working methods.

Requirements (NB, mandatory)

Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Category B driving licence.

University or college degree of at least 180 credits (120 credits at advanced level) in a relevant field (e.g. construction/civil engineering), or other educational background that the client considers equivalent.

At least five (5) years of documented and current work experience from completed assignments as a project engineer or sub-project manager on the client side within railway maintenance contracts, with duties corresponding to the assignment description. The work experience must be no older than 10 years.

At least three (3) years of documented and current work experience from completed assignments as a project engineer or sub-project manager on the client side within railway basic contracts in Maintenance. The work experience must be no older than 10 years.

At least one (1) completed assignment as a project engineer or sub-project manager, where the consultant on the client side has administered a complete final and ÖVT inspection of a railway basic contract, Maintenance.

At least five (5) years of experience analysing and administering the systems BIS, Bessy, Ofelia, Power BI, Besiktningsplan, MS Project, DS-analys and Optram.

Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

Good knowledge of construction contract law (AB04/ABT06) and Trafikverket's templates for railway basic contracts, maintenance.

Desirable 

You have experience from the client side of mentoring junior project engineers and being responsible for introduction within specific subject areas, such as project administration and the IT systems BIS, Bessy, Ofelia, Power BI, Besiktningsplan, MS Project, DS-analys and Optram.

Personal qualities

Independent and structured, with the ability to plan and prioritise work efficiently.

Good communication skills and the ability to maintain good dialogue and a good working relationship with contractors and colleagues in long-term relationships.

Analytical and creative.
