Buena (backed by Google Ventures) is one of the first AI-led roll-ups in Germany. We take over property management companies and turn them into technology companies. In less than three years we have become the second-largest property management company in Germany: over 30 portfolio companies, around 400 employees, more than 100,000 managed units.

We are meritocratic: our CEO was a Junior Product Manager three years ago, and our COO was Chief of Staff two years ago. At HQ we are fewer than 30 full-time employees.

A software start-up builds a product. A roll-up additionally operates a large portfolio. In a classic roll-up, only the owner changes, the job stays the same. Through Buena's business model, almost every job in the portfolio companies and at HQ changes fundamentally: our property management software and additional revenue channels redefine value creation in the industry.

This means we fill two to three times as many critical roles as a software start-up, and many of our roles did not exist in this form before. Every hire either accelerates M&A, Operations and Tech or slows them down. At Buena, recruiting is not a support function; it determines how fast we grow.

As Talent Partner you will own hiring across the whole company: HQ roles in Ops, Tech and Design as well as leadership roles in the portfolio, from managing directors to regional managers. Over the next twelve months this is around 35-40 hires. You will report to our Head of People and work directly with our CEO and COO. Your work will be measured by the quality, speed and predictability of our hiring.

• You build recruiting from the ground up. We are defining a new sector, there is no playbook to copy. You design how we define roles, find talent, assess and convince candidates, and turn it into a process that others can run too.

• You own the tooling. You set the standards for our ATS and our sourcing stack and continuously test what comes next. When a new tool makes hiring faster, you find it first.

• You hire for HQ and the portfolio. You run searches end-to-end, from intake to the signed contract, for very different roles: from an engineer in Berlin to the management of a portfolio company.

• You sell Buena and run the process. You conduct interviews, convince candidates of the opportunity, manage senior stakeholders and show hiring managers how good hiring works.

• You have the resources for it. Budget for tools, agencies, campaigns and support is barely limited. Employer branding is one of our priorities next year, and you will help shape it. Shortly after you start, a working student or intern is expected to join.

• want to work on site at our HQ in Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg).

• speak German and English at C2 and C1 level respectively.

• have worked in recruiting in a VC-funded environment and have led roles from intake to the signed contract.

• have built AI-native recruiting workflows yourself, for example your own CRM, sourcing automations or workflows with Clay or Metaview, and can show them to us.

• are deep in the operational work and prefer to run searches yourself rather than delegate them.

• can sell: you conduct interviews with confidence and can hold effective difficult discussions with senior stakeholders.
