We are looking for an experienced railway project manager for Trafikverket on national projects concerning the replacement of level crossing installations.

This is a consultancy assignment with a duty station in Gävle.

The position is full-time.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places great demands on flexibility and collaborative ability.

The assignment

Trafikverket is running the national replacement programme for level crossing installations ALEX (NUVA). The programme covers the replacement and modernisation of level crossing installations along the state-owned railway network.

As project manager, the consultant is responsible for one or more projects within the programme, from planning and design through to implementation, handover and closure.

The projects may be in different phases and carried out in several locations in Sweden. The role involves overall responsibility for project progress, finances, quality, work environment and compliance with Trafikverket's regulations.

The project manager works independently with extensive contact areas and leads project groups consisting of, among others, project engineers and technical specialists.

Duties

Lead and coordinate railway projects within the national replacement programme for ALEX level crossings.

Be responsible for project planning, implementation, finances, timeframes and achievement of objectives.

Lead project groups and coordinate work between design, contractors and technical specialists.

Ensure that Trafikverket's processes, regulations and client responsibilities are followed through all project phases.

Follow up design and contracting work regarding quality, costs, time, risks and work environment.

Handle project follow-up, forecasts, deviations, ÄTA matters and reporting to the client.

Take part in construction meetings, project meetings, site visits and inspections, and ensure correct final documentation and handover.

Requirements (NOTE, mandatory)

At least 4 years of work experience as a project manager or in another supervisory position, for example site manager or assignment manager, from comparable railway projects that have covered at least the technical areas track, signalling and telecoms.

At least 1 year of work experience as a project manager for railway projects in the design phase, where the assignment covered at least the technical areas track, signalling and telecoms.

At least 1 year of work experience as a project manager for railway projects in the contracting phase, where the assignment covered at least the technical areas track, signalling and telecoms.

Completed project manager training. Alternatively, at least 1 year of experience as a project manager at Trafikverket, as an employee or resource consultant, working according to the GÅ process or the Invest process.

Completed training to act as the client's construction work environment coordinator, BAS-P and BAS-U.

Ability to lead, coach and support project teams and individual project members.

Good ability to express oneself in Swedish, orally and in writing.

Valid B driving licence.

Good ability to use Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of relevant laws, ordinances, standards and regulations in the field.

*Work experience requirements refer to at least 50% employment and the experience must not be older than 10 years. For project manager experience, assignment managers, site managers or work leaders are not automatically equated with project managers. Deputy project managers and sub-project managers may be accepted under special conditions.

Meritorious 

Completed BASÄSKYDD or BASÄVISTA and necessary refresher training.

At least 1 year of work experience as a project manager or in another supervisory position from railway projects in the design phase that included design of ALEX level crossings.

At least 1 year of work experience as a project manager or in another supervisory position from railway projects in the contracting phase that included construction of ALEX level crossings.
