About the role.

Uber Freight Mexico Customs, powered by TP Laser, is looking for a Sr. Operations Manager to lead and direct our customs operation. We are looking for a strategic leader responsible for financial control, continuous process improvement, regulatory compliance and talent development within the business unit.
As Sr. Operations Manager, you will be key to ensuring excellence in import and export logistics processes, monitoring the profitability of the business and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic and challenging environment.   

Duties and Responsibilities.

• Coordinate, motivate and develop multidisciplinary teams to form self-managed groups, as well as structure and support career development plans.
• Stay up to date on customs legislation, analyse its strategic impact and ensure compliance with RRNAs (Non-Tariff Regulations and Restrictions).
• Financial and Operational Control: Monitor operational volume, Net Revenue and carry out the analysis and control of OpEx for the business unit.
• Account Management and Contingencies: Lead strategic projects, guarantee the correct onboarding of new accounts and resolve contingencies during customs clearance.
• Optimisation and Measurement: Assess risks, costs and times to optimise customs processes, implementing key performance indicators (KPIs) for decision-making.
• Communication and Negotiation: Maintain fluid and effective communication with clients, customs authorities, suppliers and carriers.

Basic Requirements.

• Completed bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, International Business, Logistics or a related field.
• More than 10 years of experience in Forwarding, Customs Brokerage or Manufacturing companies.   
• Verifiable prior experience of more than 5 years in managing and developing work teams.
• Fluent conversational English.
• Command of Mexican customs legislation (Customs Law, RGCE, SAT) and International Treaties (USMCA, FTAs).
• Tariff classification (TIGIE), customs regimes and promotion programmes (IMMEX, PROSEC, Rule 8th).
• Command of Incoterms and compliance with Mexican Official Standards (NOMs).
• Handling of customs technology and systems: VUCEM, Digital Window, Annex 24, Annex 31 and electronic customs declarations (pedimentos).

Desirable Qualifications.

• Master's degree in Administration, Customs Law, Logistics or Management.
• Knowledge of supply chain security (OEA, C-TPAT, ISO).
• Handling of BI tools, project management and quality/continuous improvement methodologies.
