”Here you get close to our core service at Telenor, and take responsibility for connecting people, businesses and society. In this role you will not only be responsible for operations and fault handling. You become part of a specialised team, where the IP area is broad, and we work all the way from architecture and design to implementation, optimisation and operation of some of the country's most advanced IP networks. We work with infrastructure that creates noticeable results.”
- Gorm Riksted, Manager, Network IP
You develop and operate our network
We are expanding the team and are therefore not just looking for one, but two skilled IP Network Specialists. This means we have two open positions in this role, and are looking for two new colleagues who would like to become part of the team. As Senior IP Network Specialist you will become part of the IP team, which develops and implements the basic infrastructure that connects all Telenor network elements, customers and services. We work with the latest technologies and focus on creating stable and efficient solutions that support the needs of the future. Our foremost task is at all times to ensure that the network is fully operational, and that it is continuously expanded in terms of capacity, new services and technologies. We work purposefully on developing IP/MPLS-based transmission networks for 5G, as well as developing and expanding our broadband products and internet capacity.
As our new Network Specialist you will be part of our specialised IP team, which among other things is responsible for delivery of the IP/MPLS network. In addition, you will also take part in Life Cycle Management, capacity expansions, optimisations etc.
Specifically, your core tasks will be centred on:
IP network security analysis and design
Development and optimisation of Telenor's nationwide IP/MPLS network and Enterprise IP network
Participation in development and integration projects and collaboration with internal and external partners
3rd line support, i.e. handling complex faults and escalations that cannot be resolved by 1st or 2nd line support. This involves in-depth fault finding, analysis and implementation of permanent solutions
Please note that this position includes an operational element, which is handled by an on-call rota 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If outages or operational disruptions occur, we need to resolve them immediately, and you will therefore - over time - become part of this on-call rota, where you will for a few weeks a year need to be available to Telenor at unsocial hours (most often the task can be solved from home).
It is also a prerequisite that you can be security cleared and maintain your security clearance throughout your employment, and that you speak Danish.
You are collaborative, curious and have technical depth
We are looking for a profile with technical depth, who is motivated by complex technical challenges and thrives with responsibility. You have solid professional grounding in IP networks and are able both to work deep into the detail and at the same time keep an overview of the overall solution. We envisage that you have experience with design, implementation or operation of larger IP networks and are used to working with technologies such as IP/MPLS, routing, switching and firewalls. You may have a background as an engineer, computer scientist, data technician or equivalent, but most importantly, you have developed a good technical understanding throughout your career.
You will become part of a team with a high professional level, where quality, knowledge sharing and collaboration are a natural part of everyday work. Therefore, it is important that you both contribute your own professional knowledge and want to teach others and develop solutions together with others. You are curious and keen to learn, but you are also the type who dares to challenge existing solutions and bring new perspectives into play. At the same time, you understand that the best solutions are created together, and you manage to collaborate with technical specialists, suppliers and colleagues across the organisation.
Experience with Juniper, Cisco, network security or firewall technologies is essential in this role. CCNP, CCNA or equivalent certifications would be an advantage. We furthermore envisage that you bring knowledge of IP network design and implementation, and 2nd and 3rd line support.
We place at least as much weight on your attitude as on your CV. Therefore we are looking for a colleague who takes ownership, delivers high quality and wants to help develop the network, the team and the solutions we deliver to millions of customers every day.
A workplace full of Fantastic connections
You will become part of a changing organisation, where dedicated and skilled colleagues work together to develop the telecoms company of the future. As a workplace we focus on creating Fantastic connections between each other and our customers. With the latest solutions and the most efficient network, we create small miracles in a world that never stands still. We are the digital lifeline that connects people, businesses and society.
You will become part of a team of 10 people, who think it is fine for work to be fun. We are a group of colleagues with different professional backgrounds. We contribute knowledge where we can, learn from each other and work together towards a common goal - namely to develop and implement the basic IP infrastructure.
