About the role

Translated into English from Swedish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Would you like to use your legal expertise in a society-critical operation where law is a natural part of business and operational development? Here you will work broadly with qualified legal questions in an environment where trust, responsibility and regulatory compliance are essential - every day, in all situations. The position is a fixed-term employment of 12 months.

At Bankgirot we have made an active choice: to take responsibility for something bigger than ourselves. Since 1959 we have ensured that Sweden's payments work by managing and developing the infrastructure that connects the country's banks. As the world changes and regulations evolve, law becomes an increasingly important part of our work to create a stable, secure and future-proof payment infrastructure.

Here you will

  • Work with legal issues in a society-critical operation with high demands on security and regulatory compliance.

  • Work broadly with legal issues across several areas of law and contribute to business-critical decisions.

  • Collaborate closely with the business and contribute to well-founded decisions on complex issues.

About the role

The role entails a broad and independent responsibility for legal issues within the organisation.

You provide qualified legal advice and support the business on complex issues, and contribute legal perspectives in both strategic and operational decisions.

The role involves many points of contact and close collaboration with the business. You are expected to independently drive legal issues forward, identify risks and opportunities, and contribute to solutions that balance business needs, regulations and long-term goals.

We are looking for you who enjoy working both independently and together with others, and who appreciate the opportunity to work broadly with legal issues in an organisation where societal benefit and responsibility go hand in hand.

The role includes:

  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating complex agreements.

  • Interpreting and applying current regulations that affect the organisation.

  • Providing legal support and advice in areas such as IT law, company law, competition law, security protection and intellectual property law.

  • Handling company law matters.

We want you to:

  • Have an academic degree in law.

  • Have at least seven years of experience of qualified legal work after graduation, for example from a law firm, authority or company.

  • Be used to independently driving legal issues forward and providing advice to different parts of an organisation.

  • Be confident in your legal expertise and driven by turning complex legal questions into clear and practically useful advice.

  • Have a good ability to build trust and relationships with stakeholders at various levels of the organisation.

  • Share your knowledge and contribute to common results through collaboration and taking responsibility.

  • Have a good ability to communicate in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing.

Experience from a regulated business is meritorious.
