Senior Technician in Geology

The incumbent provides technical support to the Centre of Excellence in Geology by taking part in the implementation of mineral resource projects. The incumbent will be required to work closely with other team members on database evaluation, geological interpretation, creation or validation of block models, creation of all kinds of maps, as well as any other tasks necessary to achieve the team's objectives.

Your responsibilities

• Integrate and validate quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) results, set up and validate geological databases;
  
• Under supervision, carry out 3D geological modelling, statistical and geostatistical studies and analyses, Mineral Resource estimates, block models (Leapfrog Geo and Edge, Surpac, Isatis / experience in Datamine, Vulcan or Genesis is an asset), internal and external Resource and Reserve audits, bulk sampling programmes and all other types of assignments on exploration projects, advanced projects and operating mines;
  
• Take part in writing Technical Reports compliant with Regulation 43-101 by creating images or maps;
  
• Work jointly with the engineering team when carrying out economic studies to ensure a good understanding of the deposit and the application of mining methods that respect the nature and geometry of the deposit;
  
• Act as a consultant expert and propose recommendations to resolve issues or improve ways of working.

Desired profile

• DEC in Mineral Technology, Geology option
  
• Minimum of 10 years of experience
  
• Relevant field experience
• Knowledge of Leapfrog Geo and Edge design software (Surpac, Isatis / experience in Datamine, Vulcan or Genesis), use of a GPS (an asset)
• Excellent command of the Office suite
  
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and regulations
• Good command of the French language (spoken and written)
• Average functional command of English (an asset)
