Your contribution

As a Senior Java Developer with both disciplinary and technical leadership responsibility, you shape the technical success of our projects. You develop high-quality and secure backend applications, design scalable microservice architectures and, together with your team, take key engineering decisions.

In addition, you lead and develop a small development team, provide guidance on technical and organisational questions and create the conditions for successful collaboration. Through your combination of deep technical know-how, architectural vision and clear leadership, you ensure that our clients quickly arrive at robust, maintainable and data-based solutions.

Your tasks

• Software development: Design, development and maintenance of high-quality Java applications based on current LTS versions such as Java 17, 21 or 25 with Spring Boot.

• Architecture & microservices: Conception and further development of scalable microservice architectures with clear interfaces, traceable domain logic and sustainable maintainability.

• Spring ecosystem: Use of Spring Cloud, in particular Gateway and Config Server, as well as Resilience4j for robust communication, error handling and fault tolerance.

• Security: Implementation of secure services with Spring Security, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.

• Code quality & testing: Carrying out thorough code reviews, establishing suitable test strategies and continuously improving software quality.

• Disciplinary leadership responsibility: Leading and developing a small development team, including one-to-one meetings, feedback, objective setting and personnel development.

• Collaboration & problem solving: Coordination with other teams and stakeholders, as well as independent analysis and resolution of complex technical challenges.

Your profile

• Java expertise: Extensive experience in Java development at senior level with current LTS versions, as well as deep practical experience with Spring Boot.

• Spring Cloud & resilience: Solid knowledge of Spring Cloud, in particular Gateway and Config Server, as well as practical experience with Resilience4j.

• Security expertise: Sound understanding and practical implementation of Spring Security, OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect.

• Microservices architecture: Demonstrable experience in designing, further developing and operating scalable microservice landscapes in production.

• Leadership experience: Experience in the disciplinary and technical leadership of small development teams, as well as in staff management, feedback and personnel development.

• Cloud infrastructure: Good knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and Linux, as well as a sound understanding of CI/CD processes and cloud infrastructure.

• Communication and analytical skills: Ability to solve complex technical challenges pragmatically and to communicate clearly, in a structured and goal-oriented way with teams and stakeholders; German at native level and very good English skills.
