Lead the space layout studies for complex naval projects!

As part of the development of our activities in the naval sector, Ekium is strengthening its teams and is looking for a Group Leader Space Layout.

At the heart of projects, you carry out space layout studies for complex vessels and installations, ensuring technical coordination of the studies, the interface with the client and the link with production teams.

Mission

As the technical reference person for your scope, you are responsible for general and detailed space layout studies of premises and ensure consistency across the different disciplines: fluids, piping, ventilation, electrical, foundations…

In this role, you:

• Lead and coordinate the space layout studies within your scope.

• Ensure the technical interface with the client and take part in project costing.

• Coordinate the various stakeholders and ensure the quality of the studies and adherence to deadlines.

• Work on the 3D digital mock-up of a vessel or industrial installation.

• Position the main systems and equipment within the various technical zones.

• Design and define the support of networks, based on installation standards or specific solutions.

• Ensure the proper integration of the different disciplines and the overall consistency of the installation.

• Take into account the constraints of access, maintenance and repair of installations.

• Produce or supervise the production of 2D drawings derived from the 3D mock-up: layouts, isometric drawings, support drawings…

• Bring your expertise to production teams and handle discrepancies between the assembly and the digital mock-up.

• Take part in improving methods and sharing lessons learned within the team.

A role that is both technical and cross-functional, with a genuine dimension of coordination and client interface.

Candidate profile

• Bac+2/3 qualification such as BTS CPI, CRCI, BUT GMP, MT2E or equivalent.

• Minimum 10 years' experience in a design office, ideally in the naval sector.

• Experience in military naval work is a real asset.

• Good knowledge of the various disciplines: piping, electrical, ventilation/HVAC, structure, safety of installations and people.

• Experience in technical management and client relations.

• Organisational skills, rigour and the ability to coordinate several contacts.

• Enjoys teamwork and complex technical environments.

• Intermediate English.
