At Logicalis Spain we are looking for an Automation Architect to grow our team in Madrid.

We are looking for an Automation Architect to lead the strategy, design and evolution of automation platforms at our clients.
The role will be the technical reference responsible for defining the reference architecture, development standards and automation best practices, ensuring secure, scalable, observable solutions aligned with business needs.
The position will play a key role in defining hybrid and Cloud architectures, driving the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, operations automation and self-service models for technology teams and internal clients.
Will be responsible for establishing technical standards, leading cross-cutting automation initiatives and supporting DevOps and Platform Engineering teams in implementing robust and maintainable solutions.

Responsibilities:
Automation Architecture

• Design and evolve automation architectures for hybrid and Cloud environments.

• Define blueprints, reference patterns and reusable models for services, platforms and clients.

• Design solutions based on Ansible Automation Platform (AAP/AWX), GitHub, Azure DevOps… Governance and CI/CD Platform

• Define corporate CI/CD and automation standards.

• Design branching strategies, versioning, promotion pipelines and release management.

• Implement change control, approval and regulatory compliance mechanisms.

• Guarantee software supply chain security (Supply Chain Security). Infrastructure as Code and Reuse

• Define and maintain reusable catalogues of Terraform modules.

• Standardise roles, collections and automation frameworks based on Ansible.

• Establish documentation, testing and versioning practices to facilitate adoption by teams. Technical Leadership and Enablement

Act as technical reference for DevOps, Automation and Infrastructure teams.

• Carry out architecture, design and code reviews.

• Lead initiatives to adopt new technologies, methodologies and standards. Advanced Operations

• Take part in resolving critical incidents related to automation platforms. • Identify opportunities for optimisation, simplification and technical debt reduction.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, development, security and operations areas. Essential Requirements Experience

• Proven experience in automation, DevOps, Platform Engineering and/or infrastructure architecture.

• Experience designing and implementing automation architectures in hybrid and Cloud enterprise environments.

• Experience leading cross-cutting initiatives, defining technical standards and supporting teams in adopting automation best practices.

Technical knowledge

• Advanced Python for automation, tool development and building integrations.

• Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform (AAP/AWX): ○ Roles and collections. ○ Dynamic inventories. ○ RBAC. ○ Workflow Templates. ○ Job Templates.

• Terraform: ○ Design of reusable modules. ○ Workspaces. ○ State management. ○ Policies and governance.

• Azure DevOps, GitHub: ○ Git repositories. ○ Multi-stage YAML pipelines. ○ Environments. ○ Approvals & Checks. ○ Artefacts and deployments.

• Bash and PowerShell.

• Git, GitFlow and versioning strategies.

• Design and consumption of REST APIs.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• DevOps and CI/CD methodologies.

• Ability to produce technical documentation, runbooks and architecture documentation. Competencies

• Containers and Cloud Native platforms.

• Advanced Linux and Windows administration.

• Integration with ITSM platforms (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).

• Security applied to automation and DevSecOps. Experience in multicloud environments (Azure, AWS and/or GCP).
