Solaris: Europe's Leading Embedded Finance Platform
Solaris is the number 1 embedded finance platform in Europe. As a BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) pioneer, we build the bridge between smart financial technology and licensed banking. Founded in Berlin in 2016, we enable fintechs, digital ecosystems and global brands to embed accounts, cards, loans and payments seamlessly directly into their own products. The result: intuitive financial products that delight millions of users in their everyday lives.
As a German full-service bank, we combine maximum IT security and regulatory strength with a modular, highly scalable infrastructure.
Now we are taking the next step: we are transforming Solaris into an AI-native banking platform, so that companies across Europe can scale secure, flexible financial products even faster.
Why you should join Solaris:
We are reinventing banking processes from the ground up, driven by intelligent automation, modular building blocks and directly integrated compliance.
Tech meets banking. We manage our tech infrastructure from Berlin and our banking operations from Frankfurt.
Thanks to internal mobility, genuine career opportunities and the Solaris Academy, you can look forward to continuous learning paths, AI mentoring and targeted upskilling.
We stand for integrity, proactive risk management and lived equal opportunity, backed by concrete DEI initiatives.
Ready to merge tech and banking and help build Europe's first AI-native bank?
To strengthen our team, we are looking for Audit Senior Manager*innen - Model Validation (m/w/d) with experience in auditing mathematical models in Frankfurt.
Whether it is MaRisk, machine learning architectures or the EU AI Act: you will ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are cleanly implemented in complex modelling. Take this opportunity to actively raise the impact of Internal Audit at Solaris to a new level.
Your role

- Professionally challenging model assumptions, mathematical formulations and calibration techniques of the quantitative development teams.
- Analysis and independent assessment of the internal control system (ICS), compliance and process reliability, as well as tracking of internal and external findings (follow-up).
- Independently supporting internal projects in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. MaRisk/KWG) and actively contributing to the further development of our audit methods.
What you bring
We are not interested in fancy titles, but in genuine personal and professional development within our learning framework. Let us find out together how you can enrich our team.
- Completed degree (e.g. in Finance, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Law) or a comparable qualification gained through relevant professional experience.
- Relevant and in-depth practical experience in bank auditing (in-house or at an audit firm/consultancy) within the MaRisk/KWG environment.
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of advanced statistics, econometrics, stochastics and machine learning algorithms (supervised/unsupervised).
- Proven practical experience in auditing or developing quantitative models (scoring, backtesting, stress testing), as well as experience in code review with common data science libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (e.g. EU AI Act), audit software, and confident handling of AI-supported workflows, along with a willingness to continuously develop your own AI skills.
- Negotiation-proof German and English skills, spoken and written.
- Strong analytical skills, integrity, and the role of communicative link between quant developers, regulatory experts and the business units.
Benefits
- 28 days of holiday (increasing by 2 days after 2 years and by a further 3 days after 3 years at Solaris).
- 2 paid sick or volunteering days (Volunteering Days) per year.
- Home office budget.
- Training budget of 1,000 € per year and a transparent career framework to support your professional goals.
- Monthly meal allowance.
- Subsidy towards the Deutschlandticket (German nationwide public transport ticket).
- Possibility to work from abroad for up to 12 weeks per year (workation).
