About the role

Translated into English from French by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

A company at the heart of CRPG:

Specialising in tactical role-playing games (Computer & Tactical RPG), TACTICAL ADVENTURES is a video game development and publishing studio founded in Paris in July 2018.

The studio became known with Solasta: Crown of the Magister, a tactical RPG (SRD 5.1), as well as the Early Access of Solasta II, released at the beginning of 2026.

Driven by an independent studio culture, we place creativity, craftsmanship, communication and our professional expertise at the heart of how we work.

Since our integration into the "Kepler Interactive Limited" ecosystem (a group of studios including A44, Sloclap, etc.), we benefit from publishing support and, where necessary, support on production challenges, while retaining our autonomy.

The job in a nutshell:

As part of its development, TACTICAL ADVENTURES is looking for a Lead 3D Character Artist to strengthen its ranks.

Under the responsibility of the Art Director, you will be in charge of:

  • Establishing guidelines for characters and creatures for internal and external teams;

  • Modelling (High & Low Poly) and texturing (UV, Baking, Textures) characters and creatures from concept illustrations, in line with the defined artistic direction and the technical constraints established in pre-production;

  • Working closely with our Lead 3D Animator to ensure the integration of models;

  • Ensuring quality control of models produced externally, following the various production stages;

  • Managing the Character Artist team and driving its development (you will have two team members reporting to you).

These responsibilities may evolve depending on the candidate's profile and their interest in the position.

The profile we are looking for:

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in a similar role in the video game development field;

  • Experience in team management is required;

  • You are proficient in Zbrush, Blender, Substance 3D Painter, Photoshop and Character Creator 4;

  • You have at least a working level of French;

  • You have knowledge of Unreal Engine 5;

  • You have an interest in the medieval and fantasy universe.

Nice to Have:

  • You have knowledge of the Marmoset and potentially Marvelous software;

  • You have professional English (Level B2/C1 depending on profile);

  • You demonstrate rigour, organisation and autonomy, you are proactive, you communicate effectively and are comfortable working in a team.

  • You have knowledge of tabletop RPGs (jeu de rôle), notably Dungeons & Dragons.

What you can expect from us:

  • Working within a passionate and talented team, in a dynamic and creative environment;

  • A competitive base salary, commensurate with your skills and experience, and aligned with the results we expect from you;

  • You will receive 25 days of annual leave and 12 days of reduced working time (RTT). You will also enjoy all national public holidays;

  • You have two fixed days of remote working, Monday and Friday;

  • A workplace ideally located in the lively city of Paris, at the heart of culture, history and an endless source of inspiration;

  • Reimbursement of 50% of your travel costs or access to the sustainable mobility package;

  • Participation in two team-building events per year (summer & winter) as well as various events organised with HR & the CSE;

  • One hour of team-building every two weeks to play video games with colleagues;

  • Access to MOOCs, GDC Vault conferences and other professional training tools;

  • We offer a competitive company health insurance: Alan Purple for all our employees;

  • We provide our employees with meal vouchers via our provider Swile (€10 per voucher, employer contribution of 50%).

Recruitment process:

  • HR / Production Interview with our HR Manager and our Chief Production Officer;

  • Technical test (management and production case study)

  • Technical Interview with our Art Director and our Lead 3D Environment Artist (to help you understand the Lead role with us);

  • Fit interview with our CEO, Mr GIRARD Mathieu
