Stable operation in a complex and business-critical application landscape
You become part of the Tech DevOps team in the Technology division, which is responsible for a number of central applications and technical platforms that support Network and IT at Telenor. The team works in a complex telco environment with many technologies, integrations and system dependencies, where robustness and high operational stability are essential for both the business and our customers.

As Senior System and Application Administrator, you will have a broad technical role, where your day spans from operation and troubleshooting to ongoing improvements and modernisation of our platforms. Here you get the opportunity both to solve complex technical challenges and to contribute to the development of our operating environments.

You will, among other things, be expected to:

• Operate, administer, patch, upgrade and lifecycle-manage applications on Linux and Windows platforms.

• Troubleshoot across application, operating system, database, integration and network, and handle incidents and problems.

• Operate distributed solutions with clustering, High Availability and multiple nodes with mutual technical dependencies.

• Work with monitoring, logging, performance, capacity and automation, and continuously improve operational quality.

• Document solutions and operating procedures, and contribute to security, compliance, changes, releases and technical controls.

Technical breadth and solid operational understanding
The role requires the ability to create an overview in a complex environment with many dependencies, where technical challenges often need to be solved across systems and platforms. Experience from system, application or production operations provides a good foundation for navigating between daily operations, troubleshooting, changes and the ongoing improvements of our platforms.

Your educational background is less important than your technical understanding and practical experience. What matters most is a substantial operational-technical foundation, the ability to take ownership and a structured approach to problem-solving. The environment spans many different platforms and solutions, so it is not essential to know them all in advance. As a person, you are curious and motivated by understanding how systems and technologies work together. You take ownership of the solutions you work with, and you thrive on getting into new areas, challenging what exists and turning experience into concrete improvements that raise the quality of operations.

You will probably recognise yourself in several of the following areas:

• Operation and administration of applications and technical platforms.

• Troubleshooting across systems, networks and integrations.

• Distributed solutions with clustering, High Availability and technical dependencies between several systems.

• Monitoring, automation and ongoing improvements of operating environments.

• Security, governance and compliance, including access management, logging, audit/reviews, evidence and technical controls.
