Norion Bank Group
Required skills
About the role
Translated into English from Swedish by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.
Are you a senior banking and finance lawyer who wants a business-oriented, advisory key role in complex credit and financing matters? Do you have solid experience of corporate and real estate financing, loan documentation, security structuring and legal structuring - and want to contribute qualified legal advice close to the decisions? Then the role of Senior Legal Counsel in the bank's corporate and real estate team may be the right next step for you
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Senior Legal Counsel focusing on the bank's corporate lending - including corporate and real estate loans as well as factoring - you will have an independent and qualified responsibility for legal advice within the bank's credit operations. You work close to the deal and contribute to structuring, risk assessment, documentation and execution of more complex financing transactions.
In the role you are responsible, among other things, for independently drafting, reviewing and negotiating loan agreements, security documentation and other relevant loan documentation. You provide qualified support on contractual, security, property law and insolvency law issues, handle default and restructuring situations and act as senior legal support in the more complex parts of the credit process. Depending on experience, the role may also involve participation as a delegate in the bank's credit committee.
The role suits you who are used to combining legal precision with commercial understanding and pragmatic problem-solving. You thrive in an environment where cases are often complex, decision paths are short and where your legal assessments have real impact on the business. You gain insight into the entire credit process - from early structuring and risk analysis to negotiation, documentation and ongoing advice - and are given great scope to influence both legal solutions, working methods and the progress of the business.
You become part of the bank's committed corporate and real estate team of around twenty skilled colleagues and report to the business area manager.
The position is based at Norion Bank's offices in Stockholm or Gothenburg.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for you who have a law degree (jur.kand./juristexamen) and at least eight years of qualified experience as a lawyer in banking and finance, preferably from a law firm, bank or other financial business. You have very good knowledge of credit and contract law and documented experience of corporate and/or real estate financing. You are confident in matters concerning legal structuring, security structuring, property law and insolvency law and are used to turning legal analysis into clear recommendations.
It is meritorious if you have experience of larger or more complex financing transactions, restructurings, default cases, dispute or litigation-related matters and work in a bank or other regulatory environment.
As a person you are confident in your legal competence, business-oriented and used to acting independently on complex issues. You have high integrity, good judgement and the ability to weigh legal risks against commercial objectives. You communicate clearly, build trust in close collaboration with business, credit and other specialist functions and have the ability to drive matters forward in a constructive way. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
