About the role

Translated into English from German by Korum. The employer's original wording is on their site.

Solaris: Europe's leading Embedded Finance platform

Solaris is the number 1 platform for Embedded Finance in Europe. As a BaaS (Banking-as-a-Service) pioneer, we bridge the gap between smart financial technology and licensed banking. Founded in Berlin in 2016, we enable fintechs, digital ecosystems and global brands to embed accounts, cards, loans and payments seamlessly directly into their own products. The result: intuitive financial products that delight millions of users in their everyday lives.

As a German full-service bank, we combine maximum IT security and regulatory strength with a modular, highly scalable infrastructure.

Now we are taking the next step: we are transforming Solaris into an AI-native banking platform, so that companies across Europe can scale secure, flexible financial products even faster.

Why you should join Solaris:

We reinvent banking processes from the ground up - driven by intelligent automation, modular building blocks and directly integrated compliance.

Tech meets banking. We manage our tech infrastructure from Berlin and our banking operations from Frankfurt.

Thanks to internal mobility, genuine career progression opportunities and the Solaris Academy, you can look forward to continuous learning paths, AI mentoring and targeted upskilling.

We stand for integrity, proactive risk management and lived equal opportunity - backed by concrete DEI initiatives.

Ready to merge tech and banking and help build Europe's first AI-native bank?

To strengthen our team, we are looking for IT (Senior) Audit Managers (m/f/d) with experience in auditing IT processes in Frankfurt.

Whether it is BAIT or ISO standards (e.g. 27001): you ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are implemented properly. Seize this opportunity to actively raise the impact of Internal Audit at Solaris to a new level.

Your role

  • Independent preparation and execution of IT audits, including drafting audit reports and coordinating with specialist departments.
  • Contributing to the review and quality assurance of the internal control system and of the compliance, security and efficiency of processes and systems.
  • Independent follow-up review of internal and external findings as part of the follow-up process.
  • Accountable oversight of internal projects in line with the relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. MaRisk/DORA/KWG) as well as emerging AI regulatory requirements.
  • Active involvement in the further development of audit methods.

What you bring

We are not interested in impressive titles, but in genuine personal and professional development within the framework of our learning framework. Let us find out together how you can enrich our team.

  • Completed degree, preferably in IT, cybersecurity, information security or a related field.
  • Relevant and in-depth practical experience in auditing IT requirements (e.g. MaRisk, DORA, IT baseline protection or ISO 2700X).
  • Very good knowledge of regulatory banking standards.
  • Good to very good knowledge of fundamental IT processes (in particular BCM, incident and problem management, cloud technologies, outsourcing, software and development processes including testing and release, as well as authorisation management).
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks (including explainability, fairness, model lifecycle management and emerging regulatory requirements such as the EU AI Act).
  • Confident handling of AI tools, critical questioning of AI results, and willingness to work with AI-supported workflows and to continuously develop your own AI skills.
  • Negotiation-level German skills and very good English skills, both written and spoken.
  • Link between IT specialists, regulatory experts and business units, bringing different perspectives together in a targeted way.

Benefits

  • 28 days of holiday (increasing by 2 days after 2 years and by a further 3 days after 3 years at Solaris).
  • 2 paid sick or volunteering days (Volunteering Days) per year.
  • Home office budget.
  • Training budget of €1,000 per year and a transparent career framework to support your professional goals.
  • Monthly meal allowance.
  • Subsidy towards the Deutschlandticket.
  • Opportunity to work abroad for up to 12 weeks per year (Workation).

While job ads usually paint an ideal picture of a candidate, studies show that most applicants meet an average of 60% of the criteria. Unfortunately, many promising candidates tend to apply only if they meet all the criteria. So if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single item in the job description, please contact us anyway. We'd love to talk with you and find out if you might be a good fit for us.

At Solaris, we are committed to nurturing an inclusive environment, where all Solarians feel valued, respected and supported. We are dedicated to building a diverse workforce that reflects the diversity of our communities. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of color, ethnicity, religion, sex, origin, disability, marital status, citizenship, or gender identity. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please let us know.
